For analytical purposes, FZ-14M puller has been developed. The FZ-14M puller converts miniature rods of polysilicon into monocrystalline silicon for the use of assessing the quality and purity of polycrystalline material. The rod is converted into a single pass in a gas ambient atmosphere (argon). The single crystal is analyzed by spectrophotometric methods to determine the trace impurities in the polysilicon. The trace impurities are acceptor (boron and/or aluminum), donor (phosphorus and/or arsenic), and carbon.
